SAM CAIRNS WINS £1,172 WITH A SEVEN-
UNDER-PAR 63 IN HAYSTON PRO-AM

Westerwood professional Sam Cairns won the £1,172 top prize with a seven-under-par round of 63 in the Hayston Golf Club pro-am today.
Cairns' bogey-free score - believed to be a professional course record - had birdies at the first four holes, then the eighth in an outward five-under 31. He birdied the 11th and 13th and then parred the last five holes for 32 (two under par) homne.
Home course pro Steven Gray was runner-up on 65.
Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) led the Repdoruction Plaster amateur trio of Allister Fountain (6) Gary Fountain (9) and David Shearer (9) to victory in the pro-am team event with a net score of 14-under-par 56.
