GILLIES WINS £808 AT DALMUIR PRO-AM

Kingsfield tour pro Colin Gillies won the £808 top prize in the West Dunbartonshire Council pro-am at Dalmuir municipal golf course today with a three-under-par round of 64.
Gillies started his round birdie-eagle-double bogey and went on to pick up further birdies at the fifth, seventh and 10th. in halvesof 31 and 33. He bogeyed the 13th and 18th.
Gillies won by two shots from Murray Urquhart who flew back to Scotland from Dusseldorf late on Friday night, having failed to make the cut in a European Challenge Tour event.
Urquhart found the form that eluded him in Dusseldorf with a one-under-par 67 which earned him £646 for the runner-up prize and a further £97 for the team event. So the Inverness man's journey was worthwhile.
Greig Hutcheon (Peterculter) led the Clydebank Senior Citizens' trio of Chic Brogan (handicap 18), Barney Bell (18) and Willie Burns (12) to victory in the team event with a net total of 14-under-par 53.
