ALLOA PLAYERS MARCH ON IN MATCH-PLAY

Using home advantage to the maximum, Alloa golfers took total control of the quarter-finals in the Clackmannan county men's match-play championship.
Closest match involved newcomer David Milloy against Tulliallan’s John Maxwell. Milloy scored a hard-fought win at the 19th after being one up at the turn.
The other three semi-finalists, all established county players, won through after three-hole leads after nine holes, including the defending champion, Craig O’Connor, who demonstrated his determination to retain the trophy with another fine win.

Ian Ross (Alloa) beat Steven Horne (Tulliallan) 4 and 3.
Jamie Aitken (Alloa) beat Phil Hendry (Alloa) 2 holes.
Craig O’Connor (Alloa) beat Ross Benvie (Braehead) 5 and 3.
Semi-final line up at Braehead:
