HARRINGTON'S CATASTROPHIC FINISH
OPENS THE DOOR TO TIGER, VIJAY
AND ARRON WHO?

Padraig Harrington plummeted from the overnight lead down to a share of joint seventh place in the US PGA Tour's Wachovia Championship at Charlotte when he bogeyed the short 17th and then ran up a triple bogey 7 at the last hole for a 75 and a halfway total of three-under-par 141.
That opened the door for three new joint leaders on 141 - Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and the unknown Arron (is that really how he spells his first name?) Oberholser (or his second name for that matter).
Padraig had a round which included more comebacks than Frank Sinatra.
Harrington started like a dog - bogey at the first, bogey at the second, bogey at the fourth. Then he got the sleep out of his eyes and brain and birdied the fifth and sixth. Then Paddy fell off his perch again with bogeys at the eighth and ninth to be out in three-over-par 39.
Then Harrington started flying again - back to back birdies at the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th. Now he's looking good to keep the lead .... only for that catastrophic spilling of four strokes to par over the last two holes to knock the feet from under him.
Luke Donald and Ian Poulter failed to qualify on 148 and John Daly had one of those days when he threw the towel in early, finishing in 84. The Englishmen missed the cut by one. Big Bad John missed it by 14.
