TEN IN TENNESSEE
Fort-William youngster Ashton Ingram, a student at Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina, has achieved her best golfing result since she went to America last autumn.
Ashton, pictured right, finished joint 10th in a big field of 99 players with scores of 80 and 77 for 157 in the Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational women's college tournament at Link Hills Country Club, Greeneville, Tennessee.
Miss Ingram finished 12 shots behind the winner, Lorie Warren (Belmont University) with 74 and 71 for 145.
Charlene Reid, a freshman student at Pfeiffer University, from Antrim finished joint fifth with rounds of 75 and 79 for 154.
Belmont University (619) won the team title from Newberry College (629) with Tusculum College (634) third and Belmont Abbey College (644) fourth of 18 college squads.
