GRANGEMOUTH PLAYER WINS PHOTO
FINISH AT BALBIRNIE PARK


It was the tightest of finishes in the Silver Division of the Ladies Golf Union Medal East area final at Balbirnie Park Golf Club today (Tuesday).
Three players tied with net scores of 69 and victory went to Fiona Lawless (Grangemouth), playing off 13,who had the best last six holes.
Jenni Thomas (Gullane Ladies), playing off 11, was placed second with a better inward half than Fiona Corps (Anstruther), handicap 15.
In the Bronze Division Elaine Scott (Canmore) had a net 64 off 22 to win by two shots from Patricia Capaldi (Broomieknowe), handicap 21.
Fiona Lawless is unavailable to play in the LGU Medal Final at Crieff on June 3, so three qualifiers from the Silver Division are Jenni Thomas, Fiona Corps and fourth-placed Claire McGonagle (Whitekirk).
The three qualifiers for Crieff from the Bronze Division are Elaine Scott, Patricia Capaldi and Tracey-Anne Whitelaw (Alloa).
The SSS and CSS were both 70.

Silver Division – Fiona Lawless (Grangemouth) (13) better last 6 holes, Jenni Thomas (Gullane Ladies) (11) better inward half, Fiona Corps (Anstruther) (15) 69; Claire McGonagle (Whitekirk) (8) 70 better inward half.
Bronze Division – Elaine Scott (Canmore) (22) 64; Patricia Capaldi (Broomieknowe) (21) 66; Tracey-Anne Whitelaw (Alloa) (29) better inward half, Lesley Campbell (Kinghorn) (22) 71.

Qualifiers for Crieff: Jenni Thomas, Fiona Corps, Claire McGonagle, Elaine Scott, Patricia Capaldi, Tracey-Anne Whitelaw.
