Leuchars-based Fiona Lockhart (St Regulus) found her best form at just the right time to regain the Fife women's county championship at Dunfermline Golf Club this weekend.
The last time – two years ago – Fiona won her county title she went on to complete a notable double by winning the Scottish women’s title at Cruden Bay a few weeks later.
But Fiona is unable to play in the "Scottish" at Barassie next month.
In today's semi-finals, Fiona, the No 6 seed, was taken to the 18th green before beating Lesley Rolland (Dunfermline) by two holes, but in the final, against Scottish senior international Lorna Bennett (Ladybank), the No 8 qualifier, Fiona stepped up a gear to win by 6 and 4.
Miss Lockhart, pictured with the trophy, was one under par in the final with two birdies and one bogey. Lorna struggled a bit on the greens.
Defending champion Elaine Moffat (St Regulus) and top seed Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) failed to make it through to the last four.
Elaiine pitched in for an eagle 2 to win at the 19th over Susan Jackson (Ladybank) in the first round then lost by 2 and 1 to Lesley Rolland (Dunfermline).
Louise Kenney won her opening tie by 4 and 3 over Ann Moffat (St Regulus) before losing by 3 and 2 to Lorna Bennett.
