EDZELL'S BREMNER BEATS GIANT-KILLER
TREASURER FROM INVERNESS

Jamie Treasurer from Inverness, conqueror of the seeded Scottish Under-16 champion Sam McLaren (King James VI) on Tuesday, was himself cut down to size in today's second-round matches of the Scottish boys' match-play championship at Dunbar Golf Club.
Treasurer was beaten 6 and 5 by William Bremner (Edzell).
Oliver Huish, son of the North Berwick professional David, chalked up his second win at the expense of Aberdeen-born William Russell, 16-year-old men's club champion at The Duke's GC, St Andrews.
Oliver, watched by his dad, won by two holes after jumping into three-hole lead after only four holes.
Biggest win of the morning ties was achieved by Chris Gaittens from the Fortrose & Rosemarkie club on the Black Isle, north of Inverness. Chris won by 7 and 6 over Stephen MacKinnon (Tantallon).
