PGA EUROPRO TOUR
Cawder’s Chris Kelly shot an eagle and five birdies in a second-round 68 – an eight-stroke improvement – to qualify with ease for Friday’s final round in the latest PGA EuroPro Tour event, the Partypoker.com International Open at Collingtree Park.
Kelly’s total of level par 144 after 36 holes puts him in joint 14th place, only four shots behind joint leaders Matthew Richardson and Sean Whiffin.
Other Scots qualifiers among the 50 with tallies of 149 and better were former Scottish boys’ champion Paul Doherty (Vale of Glamorgan) on 145 (78-67), Aberdeen’s Graham Gordon on 146 (74-72) despite a triple bogey 7 at the fourth, and Callum Nicoll (Prestwick) on 148 (75-73).
Scots non-qualifiers were Stephen Lamb (Cardrona) on 151 (75-76), Colin Mitchell (Blairgowrie) on 152 (75-77) and Ross Cameron (Ellon) on 158 (76-82).
