CHALLENGE TOUR IN GERMANY

CHRIS DOAK THREE SHOTS OFF THE PACE

Former Northern Open champion Chris Doak is just three strokes off the lead at the midway point in the Vodafone Challenge, the latest Challenge Tour event in Germany, after a second round, five under par 67.
The Glaswegian leads the British challenge at Elfrather Mühle Golf Club with a 36 hole total of nine-under-par 135, alongside Alexander Noren of Sweden.
Germany’s Benjamin Miarka continues to lead after adding a 69 to his opening course record 63 for a total of 12 under par 132, two ahead of Spain’s Carlos Del Moral.
“I am driving the ball worse and worse every day but was saved by my putting, which was sensational,” commented Miarka, who had just 26 putts in his round.
Mark Pilkington of Wales (69) is alone in fifth place on eight under par, while Sam Walker (70) leads the English challenge on seven under.
