EURO JUNIOR GOLF CUP

INTERNATIONAL BOYS, GIRLS' EVENTS

OVER THREE COURSES IN FIFE

 

The 14-a-side, three-team Euro Junior Golf Cup competition tees off at Aberdour Golf Club at 10am on Tuesday morning.  The second round will start at 1pm over The Duke’s Course, St Andrews on Wednesday morning and the third and final 18 round will be played at 10.30am at Thornton Golf Club on Thursday.

The contesting teams are Team USA (represented by the International Junior Golf Tour), Team Canada (from the Canadian Junior Golf Association) and Team Scotland, made up of players from the Fife Golf Union.

Each team consists of four boys aged 17 to 19; four boys aged 14 to 16, four boys aged 13 and under, and two girls, aged from 11 to 19.

The winning team will be presented with the John Clark Trophy.

Each group of three off the tee will consist of a member from each team. The format will be three-ball match-play with each player competing in two matches at the same time. One point is awarded to the winner of each match.

The team with the most points at the end of the three days will be the 2006 Euro Junior Golf Cup winners.

The awards presentation will take place at the New Golf Club, St Andrews at approximately 6pm on Thursday.
