As female golfers I’m sure that most of you at some point in your golfing life have been made to feel like a second-class citizen. “Sorry, ladies cannot use that entrance,” “Shouldn’t you be at home washing the dishes?” Sound familiar? These comments don’t relate to performance, that’s another story, and one that angers our columnist Naga Munchetty – see below. There are forward tees, but why should these denote a less challenging course compared with playing off the men’s tees?
On a brighter note, and it certainly will be this weekend with record-breaking temperatures, don’t miss Women and Golf’s fun day out at the Silvermere Golf Complex in Surrey on Monday, July 1. If you are unfamiliar with this venue, it has the largest women’s golf boutique in the UK; you need to see it to believe it. It’s not all about the golf!
Three lucky ladies could also be joining me on a visit to PING’s HQ in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where they will be fitted with a brand new set of clubs – a fantastic prize to kick off their 2019 season. Enter below by 15 March.
Spring has sprung – for this week anyway – so happy golfing!
