Scots lose 4-1 to Ireland in European senior men's team championship
Scotland were well beaten, 4-1, by Ireland in the quarter-finals of the European senior men's amateur team golf championship at Diamond Country Club, Austria today (Thursday).
Results (Scots names first):
K Gallacher and L Blair lost to John Mitchell and Barry Hobson 3 and 2.
R Clark halved with A Morrow.
R Smith lost to M Kelly 1 hole.
I Brotherston lost to J Carvill 2 and 1.
S Henderson halved with S Graham.
Other results:
Spain 3, Italy 2; England 3, Sweden 2; Spain 3, Italy 2.
Scotland failed to qualify for the championship flight of the European senior women's amateur team championship at Mont Garni Golf Club, Belgium. They have received a bye into the semi-finals of Flight B in which they will play Switzerland.
In the women's championship flight, the results were:
Spain 4, Netherland 1; Sweden 3, England 2; Germany 3, France 2; Belgium 4, Ireland 1.
