Guatemala star claims top spot at the Irish Senior Women’s open Stroke Play

 

It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for Beatriz Arenas. Not only did she proudly represent her country at the World Amateur Team Championships in Carton House, but has now claimed the title of Irish Senior Women’s Open Champion. Beatriz carded yet another 82 to claim the top spot by two shots from Sheena McElroy (Grange), Gertie McMullen (The Island) and Gigi Higgins (USA).

Ireland claimed the top spot in the Nations Cup finishing with a total of 491. The team consisted of Sheena McElroy, Carol Wickham and Gertie McMullen and were a full 12 shots clear of the chasing pack.
