Whiteford and Campbell clear first Q School hurdle at Bristol

 Scots Peter Whiteford and Ryan Campbell were among the 21 players with 72-hole totals of 293 and better who qualified for the next stage of the European Tour Q School with their performances at the Players Club, Bristol over the past four days.
Whiteford had scores of 77, 67, 73 and 73 to finish 12th on 290.
Ryan Campbell qualified T18 on the limit mark of 293 with scores of 76, 72, 72 and 73.
A third Scot, Daniel Hendry, did not make it. He tied for 34th place with scores of 74, 74, 78 and 71.
English players were first and second in this early eliminator. Haydn McCullen headed the field on 276 with scores of 67, 68, 71 and 70. Compatriot Gian-Marco Petrozzi, who sounds Italian!, was second on 278 (72-69-67-70).
