Saltman looks like missing the cut at First Stage of Tour Q School

Lloyd Saltman - a one-time brilliant amateur - seems doomed to spend his pro career in the doldrums.
He is set to miss the third-round cut in the First Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School at the Players' Club, Bristol after rounds of 78, 72 and 78 for 228 - one shot to many to beat the predicted cut.
Saltman had a triple and a double bogey in his first round ... and again in his third round.
Three Scots are going to make it to the final day.
Peter Whiteford is T12 on 217 with scores of 77, 67 and 73.
Ryan Campbell is T19 on 220 with rounds of 76, 72 and 72.
Daniel Hendry is a shot inside the cut with scores of 74, 74 and 78 for 226.
Leading the field is Englishman Haydn McCullen at 10-under-par 206 (67-68-71), two ahead of compatriot Gian-Marco Petrozzi (72-69-67 for 208.
