Bryce's 65 gives him lead in Cameron Corbett  Vase at Haggs Castle

Bathgate's Joe Bryce set the pace in the first round of the 72-hole, two-day Cameron Corbett Vase open tournament at Haggs Castle Golf Club, Glasgow today (Sat).
Wood's seven-under-par effort of 65 included a bulging bag of nine birdies, offset by two bogeys in  halves of 33 and 32.
He birdied the first, second, fourth, eighth, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th and 18th. His bogeys came at the ninth and 16th.
Jeff Wright made his long trip down from Forres worthwhile with a bogey-free 66 (35-31). He birdied the fourth, 12th, 15th and 17th before finishing in great style with an eagle 3 at the 18th.
There was a cut to the leading 40 and ties at the end of the second round.
