By GEORGE YOUNG
Although a lovely day for playing golf , the scores in today's North-east District Senior Championship at McDonald Golf Club, Ellon were not that low with a scratch score of two-over-par 72 being the best of the day.
Par of the course is 70 and the CSS also 70.
Highlight of the day was a hole in one by Donald Smith (Portlethen) who used a driver for his tee shot at the 255yd par 4 14th hole. His playing partners were Andrew Ironside (Fraserburgh) and Alan Alexander (Duff House Royal).
This was Donald's sixth hole-in-one and enabled him to finish three strokes clear of Andrew Laird (Deeside) with Trevor McAllister (Deeside) claiming third place on 76, a shot ahead of the fourth man, George Paterson (Northern).
