Maurice Lindsay overcomes two double bogeys to win East of Scotland Senior Open

Monifieth's Maurice Lindsay, a past champion more than once at Broughty Golf Club, won the East of Scotland Senior Open with rounds of 73 and 69 for two-under 142 over the Fairmont St Andrews' Torrance Course.
Lindsay had a double bogey 6 on both cards but four birdies in his second round made all the difference.
The winner and the runner-up, Gary Tough (Edzell), beaten by only one stroke, , were the only players in the big field to go as low as 69 on the second day. 

Nairn's Robert Smith, joint first-round leader with a 71, looked to have the title sewn up when he reached the turn in a bogey-free 32 shots in his second round but he had a nightmare inward half of 41 for a 73 which dragged him down to third place on 144.
