Scotscraig's Neil McLennan wins senior event at Drumoig

Strong winds  and  fast greens did not deter some low scoring today at Drumoig in the Scottish Senior Golfing Society competition.

The eventual winner with 40 Stableford pts, which included a superb back nine of 24 pts, was eight- handicapper Neil McLennan (Scotscraig).

An outward 20 pts  helped Ian Gourlay, who plays off six at Strathaven, to clinch second spot with 38 pts

Ewan Robertson (Stirling) (6) also excelled with 22 pts on the inward half to finish third with 37 pts

Despite being on holiday and enjoying some winter sun, Drew Wilson (St Andrews New) retains top spot on the Order of Merit with 34.7 pts.

Neish Chisholm  (Kemnay) sits second with 31.7 pts, and Ian Gourlay (Strathaven) is third with 25 pts.

With one event left and three scores from four  counting , all is still to play for in the final competition at Prestwick St Cuthbert next Friday
