Campillo stays postive after near-miss in Malaysia

Jorge Campillo, pictured above, refused to be downhearted after finishing second for the fourth time in his European Tour career at the Maybank Championship.
The Spaniard was teeing it up in his 196th event at Saujana Golf and Country Club but has yet to enter the winner's circle and once again was a runner-up as Shubhankar Sharma's brilliant 62 handed the Indian a two-shot victory.
Campillo entered Sunday in a share of the lead and after an opening eagle he led by two but Sharma was relentless and the 31 year old was left needing a birdie on the last to claim second on his own, which he made.
"I started really good," he said. "I started good in the first eight holes then I missed my drive on the ninth hole. After that I made some good up-and-downs and gave myself some birdie chances. I finished good so I’m happy with that.
 "I knew he had to shoot low but not that low. It was windy and it was quite tricky out there. It is tough to beat someone who shoots a ten under.

"I kept trying and I’ve finished second way too many times.
"I finished by myself so that’s quite positive. I’m very happy with that."
Fellow Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal finished a shot behind Campillo after a bogey-free weekend and he was delighted with his progress after making the final two days on the cut-line.
"I made the cut on the mark and it was a little bit of a release," he said. "We knew that we were hitting the ball very nicely, we just had to roll some putts in, so 14 under par over the weekend is something special, a bogey-free weekend is as good as it can get.
"Congratulations to Sharma, to shoot ten under par on Sunday you will win any event you play in and I am very happy."

Ryan Fox played very well in the Rolex Series events in 2017 but his tie for third this week is his first top three on the European Tour, and the New Zealander was happy with his performance.
"It was solid," he said. "Not quite as good of a start as yesterday, I started with a three instead of a two but I gave myself a bunch of chances and closed well.
"Shubhankar played some amazing golf out there to shoot ten and that is pretty hard to catch. You can see it’s out there, obviously Lee (Westwood) shot it earlier in the week and to do it to win a golf tournament is seriously impressive.
"It was the best I’ve played for a little while. I drove it really solid, the ball-striking was there and I holed some putts today, so a lot to take into the rest of the season."
