Thomson wins Lanarkshire title.

Thomson, 19 year old student at university in California, returned home for the
summer in good form to win the Lanarkshire men's county championship at a
wet and blustery East Kilbride Golf Club.
Andrew, pictured, a former boy international, had
two excellent scores of 70 and , 71 to pip local teenager Alan Woodhouse (17) by one shot. Shaun Philbin of Cambuslang holed his three-iron tee shot at the tricky par three tenth.
The top eight available players go into the match-play stages at East Kilbride this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
