Andrew Thomson wins Lanarkshire title.

Andrew Thomson, 19 year old student at university in California, returned home for the summer in good form to win the Lanarkshire men's county championship  at a wet and blustery East Kilbride Golf Club.

Andrew,  pictured, a former boy international, had two excellent scores of 70 and , 71 to pip local teenager Alan Woodhouse (17)  by one shot.  Shaun Philbin of Cambuslang holed his three-iron tee shot at the tricky par three tenth.
The top eight available players go into the match-play stages at East Kilbride this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
