STONEHAVEN BOY RETAINS SPENCE TROPHY

Stonehaven's Keifer Brown has won the Spence Trophy boys' tournament for the second year in a row.

He beat Connor Brown (Peterculter) 6 and 5 in the morning semi-finals at Inverurie GC and then beat Tyler Ogston (Nigg Bay) 5 and 4 in the final.

Ogston beat Grant Pirie (McDonald Ellon) 2 and 1 in the other semi-final.

Brown beat Pirie by two holes in the third place play-off.

 

RESULTS

Semi-finals - K Brown (Stonehaven) bt C Brown (Peterculter) 6 and 5, T Ogston (Nigg Bay) bt G Pirie (McDonald Ellon) 2 and 1.

Final - Brown bt Ogston 5 and 4.

Third place play-off - Brown bt Pirie 2 holes.
