Kirkcudbrightshire  match-play championship final

From 32 pairs that entered the competition from the eight clubs within the Stewartry, the pairs winning through to the final contested the Championship over the Brighouse Bay Course on Saturday.  

The Championship Final was between Rab McWilliam and Iain McBeth (Castle Douglas) and Romney Johnston and his son Paul (Colvend).  It proved a very close affair..  The final hole was won when Romney missed his putt and Iain sank his for the match - a two-hole victory.
