EUROPEAN SENIOR MEN'S AMATEUR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP IN POLAND

SCOTS ON COURSE FOR TOP FLIGHT

Scotland are on course to make the championship flight of eight teams after the first qualifying round of the European senior men's amateur team championship at Sierra Golf Club, Poland.
The Scots are in fifth place on 388 - 11 behind leaders England who were spearheaded by an excellent round of two-under-par 70 (three shots better than anyone else in the field) from Alan Mew.
Scotland's best scorer was Tulliallan's Bob Stewart with a 76 which put him in joint 17th place.
Scottish senior stroke-play champion Barry Brooks (Meldrum House) did not have a good day. he scored a nine-over-par 81.
