TITLE-HOLDER EDMOND THROUGH TO ABERDEEN LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS AGAIN TO SEMIS
Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord), title winner in 2010 and again last year, is through to Monday' semi-finals of the Aberdeen Links golf championship.
He beat Willie Ross (Caledonian) 5 and 4 this evening to reach the
last four once again.
Three of the semi-finalists are from the Bon-Accord club.
The odd man in is Barrie Reid (Caledonian), the leading
qualifier for the match-play stages and the 2011 Links champion. He won a titanic struggle at the 25th in the quarter-finals against Alan Shand (Bon Accord), champion in 2001.
Reid had led by one hole on the 18th tee but three-putted to send the tie into extra holes, of which the fourth was halved in birdies, Reid holing from 15ft for a half.
