JIMMY GUNN EARNS $3,215 FOR FIFTH PLACE IN ARIZONA
Jimmy Gunn (pictured) from Dornoch can't come up with a tournament-winning final round but he's still laughing all the way to the bank!
Gunn, joint third with one round to go in this week's All-American Professional Golf Tour event at Longbow Golf Club, Mesa in Arizona, finished fifth on 13-under-par 200 - and earned $3,215.
He has played three events on the tour's winter schedule in recent weeks and finished fourth, sixth and now fifth, earning a total of $8,850 from the three starts on what is a fiercely competitive circuit.
Gunn had rounds of 64, 68 and 68 over the par-71 course. He finished two shots behind the two play-off participants on 15-under 198, Justin Searles (68-66-64) and Brian Vranish (66-65-67).
Searles won the play-off and the first prize of $11,350. Vranish's runner-up prize amounted to $6,175.
Two more Americans, Scott Harrington (63-69-67) and Dan Miernicki (67-65-67) tied for third place on 199.
