A FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR KNOX
Russell Knox came with a birdie blitz in a closing round of six-under-par 66 to finish jont 14th in the Hooters Tour event, the Terry Moore Ford Open at Rock Barn Golf & Spa, Conover, North Carolina.
Knox earned $4,320 after dramming eight birdies into the space of 12 holes between bogeys at the first and 17th. The Inverness exile, based in Florida for several years, birdied five in a row from the third to the seventh, then the ninth, 13th and 14th. He finish with a total fo 286 after earlier rounds of 70, 74 and 76 had put him out of the hunt for the $40,000 top prize won by American Billy Hurley with scores of 72, 67, 66 and 70 for 13 under par 275.
He won by four shots from Canadian Yohann Benson with Englishman David Skinns from Lincoln third on 280 for which he received $13,383.
