Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

Tight at the top in Sunday's third round

FROM THE EUROPEAN TOUR WEBSITE
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy continued to hold a share of the lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship today after going round the front nine at Kingsbarns in 36 to remain 11 under par.
Alongside the 20-year-old were England’s Simon Dyson, Finland’s Mikko Ilonen and Scotland's Richie Ramsay - all playing at Kingsbarns.
An eagle on the long third briefly took McIlroy into sole possession of the lead but three bogeys in the next five holes meant he slipped back before picking up a birdie on the par five ninth.
The trio of Scotland’s Alastair Forsyth, Ireland’s Paul McGinley and Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey were one shot back.
Welshman Phillip Price, meanwhile, withdrew with a shoulder injury after one hole at St Andrews. On three over he probably needed eight birdies to make tonight's 54 hole cut.
High winds meant no play was possible across any of the three Scottish links courses yesterday, with the tournament now extending into tomorrow.
