MacLEAN PREVENTS STEWART SENIORS'
DOUBLE BY WINNING MATCH-PLAY FINAL

Hamilton's Ronald MacLean thwarted a bid by Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) to pull off the Scottish senior men's amateur title double at Drumpellier Golf Club today.
Stewart, winner of the over-55s' stroke-play title at Elgin in May, lost by 3 and 1 to MacLean in the final of the inaugural national seniors' match-play championship.
MacLean, the No 4 seed, rallied from two down at the turn to take the measure of Stewart who was 22nd of the 32 qualifiers.
Friday results:
Semi-finals - R MacLean (Hamilton) bt H Anderson (Glenbervie) at 19th, R Stewart (Tulliallan) bt G Paterson (Northern) 2 and 1.
