DOAK AND KELLY TIE IT UP
0N 67 AT PETERCULTER

Chris Doak and Chris Kelly both birdied the 17th and 18th as they tied for victory with match-ing four-under-par 67s on a wet day for the Aberdeen Petroleum Club pro-am at Peterculter Golf Club today.
Doak, the Northern Open champion but still not attached to a club, had earlier birdied the second, fifth, sixth, eighth and 11 but dropped shots at the first, 13th and 16th in halves of 33 (three under par) and 34 (one under par).
Cawder club pro Kelly had an eagle 2 after driving the green at the 298yd second hole. He followed that up with a birdie at the fifth, the 10th and then his two late birdies. He dropped shots at the seventh and 12th in halves of 34 and 33.
Doak, the Tartan Tour's leading money-winner, and Kelly, seventh in the cash table, each earned £1,635.
Paul Lawrie, winner of the Turriff pro-am on Friday with a 62, staged a grandstand finish of birdie-eagle-birdie for the best inward half of the day - four-under-par 31 - but he came up one short of making it a triple tie on 67.
Nevertheless, the 1999 Open winner earned £1,090 for finished third, 24 hours after winning £1,040 for success at the Turriff Open.
Ian Bratton (Newburgh-on-Ythan) led the McGrigors team of Ross Atkinson (handicap 13), Bob Ruddiman (14) and Scott Taylor (14) to victory in the team event with a net score of 16-under-par 126.
