KENNY KEEPS COOL TO WIN SCOTTISH
YOUNG PROS TITLE AT WET MUCKHART
Royal Musselburgh assistant Kenny Glen kept his nerve and his overnight lead to win the Clubgolf Scottish young professionals’ championship on another day of rain at Muckhart Golf Club.
There was ample time for Kenny to lose his concentration during a 2hr suspension of play when some of the greens became flooded in mid-afternoon. But when play did restart, Glen just resumed his winning way. He did not hole his last putt until after 9pm which must have made it one of the latest finishing events in Tartan Tour history.
Glen scored 71, 66, 72 and 70 for a five-under-par total of 279. He won by two strokes from first-round leader and playing partner Graeme Lornie (Aspire Golf Centre) who had rounds of 68,71, 71 and 71.
