IT'S WIRE-TO-WIRE DWYER!

Ireland’s John Dwyer, who led from Day 1, became the first winner from the Irish republic of the Glenmuir Club Professional Championship yesterday(Fri) as Royal Porthcawl.
But he was taken to three extra holes by plucky Welshman Andrew Barnett, his final-round playing partner, who’d been behind until the 71st hole.
Fraser Mann, out first in the morning with a marker, shot a two-under 70, the best final round by the half dozen Scots in the field. But no Scottish player was good enough to make the 10-man Britain and Ireland PGA Cup team (the club pros’ version of the Ryder Cup) to meet the USA in Georgia in September. Leading aggregates:
