Newmachar's McIntosh has a 73 at Emerald GC course

DAY ONE IN ASIAN TOUR SCHOOL
Newmachar amateur Euan McIntosh did best of the five Scots in action on the opening day of the Asian Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 events at Pattaya, Thailand today.
McIntosh, who has played the American college circuit, shot a one-over-par 73 over the Emerald Golf Club course to be joint 17th
Also at this venue, another Newmachar player, former Scottish amateur champion Graham Gordon, who played on the PGA EuroPro Tour for the past two season,s, had a 75 to be joint 35th.
John McKenzie was sharing 43rd place after a 76 – one shot better than Mark Loftus (Cowglen) who is in joint 55th place in a field of 86.
At the second venue being used, Plutalung Golf Club, Mark Kerr from Edinburgh had a disappointing 78 to be joint 65th in a field of 84.It is not clear at this stage how many players will go forward after 72 holes to the Final Qualifying School, at the same courses, from December 13 to 16.
