Scotland and Ireland drew the opening foursomes 2 1/2- 2 1/2 in the men's home amateur internationals at Pyle & Kenfig, South Wales today.
Later Paul O'Hara put the first singles point on the board for Scotland with an emphatic 7 and 6 win over Irish teenager Niall Kearney.
Wales beat England 3-2 in the foursomes of the second match.
