SANDY STARTING NEW MATCH-PLAY
TOURNAMENT FOR UNDER-18 BOYS


Forres Golf Club professional Sandy Aird is sponsoring and organising a new open match-play tournament for Under-18 boys under the auspices of the North District of the Scottish Golf Union.
“As North District coach I realised that we had no match-play events for juniors in the North so that is why I am starting the North of Scotland Open boys’ match-play championship,” said Sandy.
“There will be three age categories – Under-18, Under-16 and Under-14.
“Forres Golf Club has kindly granted courtesy of the course for the inaugural event. If it is a success, this should become an annual event.
“There will be two qualifying rounds on October 16 and 17 followed by the top 16 in each category going on to match-play, finishing on the afternoon of October 19.”
Entry is only £5 and Sandy is funding the award of over £500 in vouchers.
There is no geographic restriction on entries.
