FIFE TEENAGER SETTING PACE AT ST ANDREWS

KRYSTLE GOES TWO CLEAR WITH ONE
ROUND TO GO IN ST RULE TROPHY

Local teenager Krystle Caithness, joint leader overnight after a first- round 71 on the New Course, surged two shots clear of the field with a four-under-par 72 over the Old Course today.
That gave her an  excellent 36-hole tally of eight-under-par 143.
Germany's Katharina Schallenberg, who had shared the pole position at the start of the day, had a 74 for 145.
Defending champion Naomi Edwards from Ganton had a 74 to be sharing third place on 146 with the Irish pair, Martina Gillen (Beaverstown) and champion Tricia Mangan (Ennis).
Katy McNicoll (Carnoustie) had a hole in one at the eighth hole with an eight iron.
