Newmachar beat Royal Aberdeen 3-2
in Pennant final at Banchory

Newmachar won the Aberdeen Men's Pennant League golf title for the second time in three years by beating defending champions Royal Aberdeen 3-2 in a closely-fought final at Banchory Golf Club today (Sunday).
With the overall scoreline 2-2, Allan Strath and Chris Simpson scored the decisive third win for Newmachar by beating Mike Wilson and Grant Joss by 2 and 1.
The Royal Aberdeen line-up included three members of the Macandrew family.

Details (Newmachar names first):
Mark Rae and Jamie Wilson lost to Nick Macandrew and Craig Leith 3 and 2.
Martin Lawrence and John Roy bt Don Macandrew and Dave Muir 2 and 1.
Andy Chan and Jordan Calder lost to Daniel Sim and Niall Young 1 hole.
Owen Walker and Liam Strath bt Donald Macandrew and Cameron Black 5 and 3.
Allan Strath and Chris Simpson bt Mike Wilson and Grant Joss 2 and 1.


+ Next year's Pennant League final will be hosted by Auchmill Golf Club which will also stage the 2020 Maitland Shield City of Aberdeen club team foursomes.
