IRVINE v BURNS IN THIS AFTERNOON'S
SCOTTISH FINAL AT CRAIL                          George Burns


Lewis Irvine (Kirkhill) will play George Burns (Crail) in this afternoon's final of the Scottish amateur championship at Crail GS.
Irvine beat the experienced Matthew Clark (Kilmacolm) at the 20th in the first semi-final this morning while Burns, pictured, the local hero, was a 3 and 2 winner over Darren Howie (Peebles)

PROGESS POINTER IN FINAL

Burns two up after six holes
Irvine one up after 11 holes of final
Burns regained the lead but lost the
15th and the 17th (to a birdie) to be
all square on the 18th tee.
18th was halved.
Burns won the 19th and the title
with a 5 to a 6.
