Canadian wins Duke of York Young Champions Trophy play-off at Castle Stuart

Canadian Christopher Vandette beat Ireland's Joseph Byrne in a play-off at Castle Stuart Golf Club links today to win the Duke of York Young Champions' Trophy Tournament.
They had finished the regulation three rounds in windy and sometimes wet conditions level on 226, Vandette with rounds of 79, 76 and 71, Byrne with scores of 69 80 and 77.
That excellent final round saw Vandette leap into the title picture after two moderate opening rounds.
 Scottish U18 boys champion Connor Wilson from Haddington tied for third place with Heejong Lim (South Korea) and Barclay Brown from Hallamshire, Yorkshire, two strokes behind the play-off participants.
Wilson scores 74, 75 and 79, Lim 70 79 79 and Brown 74 74 80.
Calum Scott from Nairn finished T14 on 238 with scores of 74, 82 and 82. 
Scotland's Lorna McClymont and Nicola Slater  (England) finished T30 on 244. Lorna scored 78, 82 and 84, Nicola 83, 76 and 85. 
The leading girl competitors in the final totals were Emily Zhu (Canada) 80-78-77 and Franziska Sliper (Norway) 74-81-80 who tied for eighth place overall on 235.
