A grand performance by Steven O'Hara

at BEN pro-am

 Steven O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) won over £1,000 from today's (Tuesday) BEN shotgun pro-am at Archerfield Links.

His bogey-free, seven-birdie 65 earned him the first individual pro prize of £916.85 and he received another £110 from the team event in which he was the pro attached to the third-placed trio of amateurs.

O'Hara started at the 13th with a birdie and followed up with further gains at the 14th, 18th, second, sixth, 10th and 12th.

Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) earned £565.22 for sharing second place on 67 with Gareth Wright (West Linton) and Neil Fenwick (Dunbar).

Grantown-on-Spey's Gavin Hay, playing out of Mearns Castle Golf Academy, finished joint third on 68 with Alan Tait (59 Club) and Paul O'Hara (N Lanarkshire Leisure), which earned all three £218.05 apiece.

Hay also led the winning pro-am "Heineken Team" of Craig Anderson (handicap 13) Paul McConnell (17) and John Small (18) to victory with a best-ball, 15-under-par net total of 57.

The five pros associated with the top teams each earned £110 - 57 Gavin Hay. 58 Michael Kanev. 59 Steven O'Hara, Ross Leeds and Graham Fox.
