Ewan Wheat leads Montrose Men's Open with a one-under 70
Seventeen-year-old Ewan Wheat (Royal Montrose) is leading the Montrose Golf Links Men's Open Week, sponsored by Clik Software, after the first round over the 1562 Course.
The two-handicapper shot a one-under-par 70 with birdies at the third, sixth, seventh and 15th.
Former Scottish boys champion Will Porter (Carnoustie), Arron McHardy (Prestonfield) and five-time tour a e twinner Ross Coull (Royal Montrose) are tied in 2nd second place on level-par 71.
Last year's winner, Gary Tough (Edzell), opened up with a 72.
