It's Rebula v Dawson over 36 holes for Amateur title on Saturday


QUARTER-FINALS
8.15 Tom Sloman (Taunton and Pickeridge) v Jovan Rebula (S Africa) - Rebula won by 2 and 1.

8.30 Mitch Waite (Filton, England) and Christoffer Palssan (Sweden)
- Waite won by 3 and 2.

8.45 Conor Purcell (Portmarnock, Ireland) v David Micheluzzi (Australia) - Purcell won by 3 and 2.

9.00 Robin Dawson (Tramore, Ireland) v John Murphy (Kinsale, Ireland) - Dawson won by 2 and 1.


               SEMI-FINALS 

Jovan Rebula (S Africa) bt Mitch Waite (England) 6 and 4
+Rebula (pictured) took a grip on the match by winning the first, second, third and sixth for a four-hole lead and went five up at the turn. Waite won the 11th with a par but Rebula birdied the 12th to restore his five-hole lead and was conceded the hole and the match at the 14th.
Waite lost form when he needed it most. He made five hole concessions and won only one hole. Rebula was level par for the 14 holes.

Robin Dawson (Ireland) bt Conor Purcell (Ireland) 3 and 2.

Purcell bogeyed the 1st and 3rd to go 2 down. Dawson (pictured) birdied 6th to go three up. Purcell birdied the 8th but bogeyed the 10th to go back to 1 down. The 12th was halved in birdie 4s. Purcell bogeyed the 13th to go 4 down but birdied the 14th to keep his hopes alive at three down with 4 to play. But halves at the 15th and 16th were all Dawson needed to seal his place in Saturday's 36-hole final. Dawson was two under par and did not bogey a single hole.
