120-bed new hotel opens in Dundee on July 9 – ready for Open at Carnoustie

 Sleeperz Hotel Dundee, a new 120-bed waterfront hotel, will open July 9 - just in time for The Open Golf Championship - taking place 12 miles away in Carnoustie.

The 147^th Open Golf Championship is being played at Carnoustie Golf Links from 15^th to 22^nd July and golf fans from across the world will be travelling to Tayside and Angus to watch the action.

Sleeperz Hotels will officially open its fourth UK property above the redeveloped Dundee Railway Station with a team of 40 staff ready to welcome guests and golf fans.

Manny Baber, general manager at Sleeperz Hotel Dundee, said: “Open for The Open is a great thing to be able to tell Dundee and Scotland. We’re taking bookings now and rooms are selling fast.

We have recruited a great team here, the final fit is progressing well and it’s the start of an exciting new chapter for Sleeperz Hotels.”

Sleeperz Hotel Dundee enjoys an iconic location at the gateway to Dundee.

The hotel’s bar and lounge enjoy panoramic views over the River Tay, neighbouring VandA Museum of Design Dundee – opening September 15 – and the RRS Discovery, one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.

The hotel is part of a £14m redevelopment of Dundee Railway Station managed by Dundee City Council and was constructed by Balfour Beatty.
