Stirling beat title-holders St Andrews in British students' final

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Stirling University are the British students golf champions for 2018. In the final, Stirling beat St Andrews, who fielded the same six players who won the title for them last year.
Stirling, taking the foursomes 2.5-0.5 and the singles 4-2, prevailed by the comfortable margin of 6.5-2.5 at Ganton Golf Club, Yorkshire
The Stirling line-up included three Scots: Michael Lawrie (Deeside), Chloe Goadby (St Regulus), the British student women's individual champion, and Mark Napier (Turnhouse). There were only two Scots in the St Andrews team: Jack Rogan (Longniddry) and George Burns (Williamwood).
Chloe Goadby's 4 and 2 win over Jack Rogan in the singles clinched overall victory for Stirling.
