ENTRIES OPEN FOR EXTENDED CASTLE STUART

LADIES’ OPEN ON AUGUST 12

NEWS RELEASE
Castle Stuart Golf Links is seeking entries from today (Tuesday, 6 March) for the Highland Ladies’ Open, which this year will have a new format and an extended capacity.

The four-time Scottish Open venue is hosting the annual event for the fourth time on Sunday, August 12.

This year the event will be an individual Stableford competition, rather than a pairs contest, and the field capacity will be extended from 40 players to 56.

Castle Stuart is also seeking feedback on the possibility of extending the tournament to become Scotland-wide next year.

Stefanie Whyte, Castle Stuart’s administration and marketing manager, said: “The Highland Ladies’ Open has been a great success and has developed each year since we launched it in 2015.

“The rising popularity means we have increased capacity again and the change in format also reflects the growing interest among women to compete in individual events.

“We are considering widening the event and would welcome comments on the possibility of it being open to players from across Scotland.”

To compete in this year’s Castle Stuart Ladies Open, players must be aged no less than 18, have a handicap of 36 or below and live in the postcode areas IV, KW or PH19-41.

Entry fee is £85 and includes bacon rolls and coffee/tea on arrival, lunch and prizegiving, as well as a merchandise showcase from Calvin Klein and Green Lamb where preferential pricing will be offered to all contestants.

To enter this year’s event, or provide feedback on a Scottish event next year, contact Castle Stuart on 01463 796111 or bookings@castlestuartgolf.com Entries must be received by July 29.
