Olesen is Great Dane at World Super

Thorbjørn Olesen turned in 32 to lead the way on 

day three of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 

Perth.

The Dane won at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in 2014 and once again found himself at the top of the leaderboard at 11 under, two shots clear of Scot Grant Forrest and Thai Prom Meesawat.

Sam Horsfield, Sean Crocker, Lucas Herbert, Yusako Miyazato and Dimnitrios Papadatos then occupied the rest of the top eight seeded places.

Herbert made a move on the leaders with a birdie on the first but once the final group got under way, Olesen and defending champion Brett Rumford also made gains.

All the players in the penultimate group the took advantage of the third, with Herbert joining the lead and Forrest and Meesawat moving to eight under.

Olesen then birdied the par five to make it a three-way tie at the top.

A Herbert birdie from six feet on the fourth moved him ahead on his own and a Rumford bogey on the fifth meant Olesen was alone in second.

The 22 year old then found sand with his second on the sixth and the bogey dropped him back into a tie for the lead.

Horsfield had turned in 33 with gains on the first, third and seventh and when he added another birdie on the tenth, he was at eight under alongside Crocker who also picked up shots on the first, third and seventh.

Forrest then moved out of that group as he holed an eight-footer on the seventh to get into a share of the lead.

Horsfield made it back-to-back birdies on the 11th to also move into a share but he was not there for long as Olesen capitalised on the par five seventh to get into double figures.

Rumford had been in serene form all week but he found an unplayable lie off the tee on the same hole and a double-bogey meant he was all of a sudden sweating to make it to Sunday.

Horsfield made it a hat-trick of gains after an excellent tee-shot into the 12th to tie the lead but once again Olesen moved away, holing a monster putt on the eighth.

Horsfield's excellent run ended with a double-bogey on the 13th and Meesawat birdied the tenth to join Forrest in a share of second.

Papadatos was alongside Horsfield, Herbert and Crocker with one to play, while Miyazato joined that group with five birdies and a bogey in his first 13 holes.

That was the top eight seeded spots, with another 28 players inside the top 24 and a play-off looming to see who would make the final day.
