Lancs man and South African are Eden
Tournament qualifying pacemakers

Leading first qualifying round scores in the Eden Tournament at St Andrews today reflected the wide appeal of this event which was first played in 1919.
There are close on 250 entries this year with a large number of them coming up from England
Christopher Carney from Morecambe in Lancashire and South Africa's Henk Geldenhuys shared the lead on three-under-par 67 at the Eden Course.
At the New Course, David Jackson (Hadley Wood) and James Showell (Telford) shared the lead with 68s.
In the first qualifying round of the women's Strathtyrum Tournament, the lead at the Eden Course (par 73) was shared by Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie), Zoe Ridgway (Tytherington) and Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir) on one-under-par 72.
At the New Course, Karen Marshall (Baberton) led the way with a two-over 73.
