It's Black v Murray for Paul Lawrie NE U18 boys match-play final at rainy Newburgh
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Cameron Black (Royal Aberdeen) will play Brad Murray (Inverallochy) this afternoon in the final of the Paul Lawrie North-east Under-18 boys' match-play championship at Newburgh on Ythan Golf Club.
In this morning's semi-finals, played in a steady drizzle, Black
beat Ruari Mair (Buckpool) by 4 and 3 in the first semi-final and Murray beat Liam Strath (Hazlehead) by two holes.
Black, winner of the stroke-play title at the same venue on Thursday, was two up at the turn and virtually clinched his place in the final by winning the 10th, 11th and 12th. He was one under par for the holes played.
Murray (Inverallochy), out in 41, was one up at the turn but Strath, who recently helped Hazlehead to win the Maitland Shield, pulled him back to all square after 13.
Murray went one up again at the 15th, lost the 16th but won the 17th and 18th for the match.
