Lanarkshire win Scottish boys' area team


championship, shot ahead of Dunbartonshire

North finished fifth and North-east eighth behind winners Lanarkshire in today's Scottish boys' area team championship at Stranraer.
Lanarkshire's total, made up of two morning foursomes and a three best from four afternoon singles, of 366 was one ahead of runners-up with Fife and Renfrewshire sharing third place on 308.
North, represented by Calum Scott, Logan Gillies, Matty Wilson and Jamie Mackintosh, had an aggregate of 370 (foursomes: 158, singles: 212), Callum Bruce, Marc Watt, Calvin Duffton and Cameron Carnegie, totalled 373 (foursomes: 146, singles: 146).


Fife shared third place on 308 with Renfrewshire but Angus shared 11th place with Glasgow behind winners Lanarkshire in today's Sunday Scottish boys' area team golf championship at Stranraer.
 
Fife's Ben Caton, Pol Berge, John Paterson and Sam Nicholson totalled 368 from the morning foursomes(146) and the afternoon best three from four individual returns (222).
Winners Renfrewshire had an aggregate of 366, which gave them a one-shot victory from runners-up Dunbartonshire.
Angus were represented by Aidan Smith, Scott Swayne, Ewan Wheat and Sean Logue. They had a score of 157 from the foursomes and 241 from the singles for a 398 total.
 
Perth and Kinross, represented by Alex Simpson, Campbell Gibson, Andrew Thornton and Jamie Roberts, finished ninth with a total of 378. They scored 152 in the foursomes and 226 in the individual returns.
Lanarkshire's winning line-up was Lewis Irvine, Greg Dalziel Kieren McAllister and Scott Thornton . They had a foursomes score of 143 and 223 in the singles for a grand aggregate of 366.
